The town of Bad Wörishofen, together with BiNova Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG and SCHIRMER Architekten + Stadtplaner GmbH, invited six renowned architectural firms to take part in a competition to develop the southern Kreuzer area in the heart of Bad Wörishofen.

CORECURE KREUZERAREAL BAD WÖRISHOFEN

The design by Titus Bernhard Architekten under the title CORECURE was awarded 3rd prize.

CORE stands for the heart, the center of Bad Wörishofen
The CURE brings new life to the center of the spa town of Bad Wörishofen
The CURE stands for the healing of an urban planning wound and for the well-being of its residents
The CURE is THE first residential address in the city center and creates a high level of identification, you live in the CURE...
The Cure is young, combines modern contemporary living with traditional motifs and ecological timber construction.

Together with the residential block to the north, the C as an urban development figure encompasses the existing park of the Kreuzer site and creates a high-quality private area belonging only to the residents in the center of the Kneipp town of Bad Wörishofen.

64 apartments and 4-8 commercial units with additional options are oriented towards this park.
The setting of Kneippstrasse, which is parceled out by pavilions in the planning area, will be reorganized and formulate a clear spatial edge. There is a public connection from Kneippstrasse to Fidel-Kreuzer-Strasse on the south side. The focal points of the open space are the park-like trees in the inner courtyard and the location on the prestigious, stream-lined Kneippstrasse.
The urban design aims to preserve the park space and adequately replace trees that have to be cleared. Two recesses have been provided so that the replacement trees can grow old in the area of the underground car park. In terms of content, the grove is largely kept free of programmatic elements in order to maintain its generous atmosphere and effect in connection with the neighboring buildings: the playground for the neighborhood children is therefore located at its edge and clearly assigned to the new buildings.
The buildings will have front gardens planted with perennials and low shrubs facing both the park and the alley. These provide privacy for the first floor residents and mediate between the building and the open space. Terraces are set into the green areas on both sides. On the sunny side to the south, this creates a lively, green-lined public connecting space to Kneippstrasse.

In times of increasing global warming and higher requirements for thermal insulation in summer, we are developing open-plan apartment types, maisonettes, classic 1-4 room apartments and lofts, which are primarily oriented to the north and east, all with spacious loggias, large windows and a connection to nature. With the exception of five mezzanine apartments in the west, all other units are barrier-free.

The timber construction system can also be seen in the façades, albeit with variations in the proportion of window openings to closed surfaces and fixed elements versus movable elements facing the park. The façade facing Kneippstrasse takes up the scale and rhythm of the windows from the neighboring buildings to the south, but does not adapt them in terms of color or style.
The timber construction stands on its own.
