House B

For the time being, it is the last house in a series of cubic apartment buildings that were built between 1996 and 2002.
The building site was densely wooded until the start of the project. The afforestation dates back to the 1960s and did not take into account the necessary planting distances that would have been required for the species-appropriate development of beech, oak, spruce, birch etc..
As a result, numerous diseased and broken trees were removed and a suitable construction site was defined.
The brightly plastered cube is divided by light bands and slits and becomes a habitable sculpture.
As part of an artistic competition, the four façades are to be illuminated with temporary light projections using so-called gobos and the theme of the site, which was once experienced as a forest, is to be recalled in the sense of an artistic transfer. The building will thus become a camouflage in 2006.
