The residential building as a work of art
For the eighth time, the Reiners Foundation for the Promotion of Architecture and Science in Hamburg has invited architects to take part in the competition for its architecture prize. The villa as a building project has always been of great interest to clients and architects. This classic residential form has an aura of elegance, cultivated lifestyle and traditional building culture - regardless of the architectural language. It is therefore always modern in the literal sense of the word, without being fashionable. The book presents 25 exemplary new buildings, mainly from German-speaking countries. Each of the buildings presented expresses the sense of social responsibility, the ecological awareness and the unique aesthetic and formal aspirations of the builders and architects.
