2012
House 14 x14 is the continuation of iconographic houses on a square ground plan with pitched roofs without overhangs.
The building regulations, in particular the available building plot in the Beiselestrasse development area, restrict the proportions and cubature. This results in a compact house with 3 floors, whereby the basement is essentially connected to the main usable areas and to the first floor via air spaces.
The building's structure and appearance are deliberately set apart from an overly "classical modernism".
The house is structured and also perforated on the inside with incisions, openings, slits and air spaces, giving it a distinctly sculptural character. It can be used in an astonishingly flexible way and can accommodate the life stages of the clients and a planned increase in the number of children through subsequent structuring (additional walls in drywall).
The façade of the house is completely "covered" with light-colored tiles, the recesses are set off in warm colors. This "tile skin" gets its liveliness from the different facets of the surface (fine monochrome color spectrum, texture, etc...). An alternative color and material concept can be developed together with the client. There are an "infinite" number of possibilities. The energy concept is based on the geological possibilities of the ground; ideally, geothermal energy is planned to cover the majority of the heating (and cooling) requirements.
