The house is a subsequent evolution of the 9 x 9 House. The singularity of this parcel is found in its northern slope, which one ascends to a height of two stories in order to reach the nearly level garden area. From this configuration emerged the leitmotiv of a “house spiraling up a slope,” with a broken stone façade that progresses tonally from dark (below) to pale (above) as it strives toward the light, and toward the program areas oriented onto the garden. Despite its complex geometry, the house’s organization is based on subdivision into clearly legible zones, and was initially based on an additive basic module measuring 7.8 x 7.8 meters. A special significance is attributed to lighting. Lateral illumination from the south and west as well as skylight on the northern and eastern sides introduce directed shadows and diffuse light.
